Then I read east article and it does not let make an impression to me! : - s I believe that that is the question to which nobody has been able to give a trustworthy answer. There is the sufficient information? the information this not arriving at the population groups to which it would have to influence? or what many adults think, “to the young people it does not interest to them”? …

What I could infer, according to my own experience is: A SEXUAL EDUCATION DOES NOT EXIST INTEGRAL. They are in charge to fill of information the head to us, but the information goes to salvarte of the VIH? or of some other ITS? ... what to do so that the information that you receive can be implemented in your daily life. Definitively no effort of the state to mantaner the levels of new infections between low young people, works. The statistics still aim at that almost 50% of the new infections happen between young people and not only that, the young people in Mexico are letting protect themselves.

which could be the solution? or what we are making bad?

Mexico, 26 sep (EFE). - The use of contraceptives between the Mexican adolescents diminished in a 12.4% years in the last, although the knowledge of these methods to prevent pregnancies reaches to 90% of the population of the country, they said official sources today.

The last data revealed by the Secretariat of Health show that in 1997 45% of the smaller adolescents of 19 years used contraceptives in their sexual relations, whereas in 2006 east percentage had been reduced to 39.4%.

Thus it explained the undersecretary of Prevention and Promotion of the Health, Mauricio Hernandez, in a press conference that offered in City of Mexico in the occasion of the third National Day for the Prevention of the Pregnancy nonPlanned in Adolescents.

“Our young people and adolescents face a sexual experience without sufficient information” and, one of the consequences, “is that most of the new cases of infection by the VIH it occurs in young people”, it honored Hernandez.

The minors of 25 years add in Mexico 21 million, which supposes a fifth part of the population of the country and among them the proportion of wished pregnancies does not surpass 60%, although that this number is little exact due to the difficulties that its obtaining creates, explained the undersecretary.

Hernandez indicated that the percentage of pregnant adolescents stays around 7% of the total of pregnancies, reason why “it continues being a pending challenge” in the sanitary policy of the country.

“The pregnancy in adolescents represents greater risks of death for mother and baby”, said the civil employee, who expressed that the death possibilities get to be up to five superior times with respect to the women who have reached their biological maturity.

In addition to the sanitary irrigations, Hernandez emphasized that a premature gravidez entails isolation frequently, estigma social, abandonment of the scholastic system and impoverishment for the mother.

In he himself act, the president of the Latin American Committee of Health of the Woman, Alberto Alvarado, presented/displayed the results of a study conducted in diverse countries of Latin America that shows a tendency similar to the registered one in Mexico on the use of contraceptives.

“In 2000, 29% of the adolescents did not use contraceptives and in 2007 east percentage it has happened to be 32%”, commented Alvarado, when talking about to the results of the region.

Alvarado indicated the advance of the age of beginning in the sexual activity like one of the possible causes that would explain this tendency.

In the Mexican women, this age has happened of the 19 years in the decade from the 90 to the 16 or less of the present time, according to data facilitated by the Secretariat of Health.

On the other hand, the Director of the Mexican Foundation for the Familiar Planning, Vicente Diaz, aimed specially that “political will of the Government exists” to reduce the number of pregnancies nonwished, in young people.

“But a single indicator shows to us that the works of the last decade are not having loe wished effects”, it assured.

This it would be the demand nonsatisfied of contraceptive methods, that her organization has based in 12.8%.
